What is the Hub?

The Hub is our platform for teachers, tutors and students participating in The Scholars Programme. Teachers use the Hub for placement management and data tracking.

All users log in at https://hub.thebrilliantclub.org/.

At the beginning of a term, you will be invited to join the Hub. Here you will manage your Scholars Programme placement(s).

Teachers can do the following on the Hub:

• Submit the planning form

• Complete student registration

• Access students’ Hub log in details

• Monitor parent/carer data form completion (Key Stages 2-4)

• Monitor attendance and engagement

• Monitor students’ baseline and final assignment submissions and access their final marks

• Access useful documents via the ‘Resources’ page

• Complete Data Requests: as part of our data collection and reporting, your Data Manager will be asked provide ethnicity data for your enrolled students. More information will be provided nearer the time.

You can access further guidance and information on using the Hub on our Hub Support Area.

Students using the Hub

The Hub has been built to be accessible, particularly for those on a mobile with limited access to devices at home.

The Hub is designed to emulate university-style learning by allowing PhD tutors and students to communicate outside of tutorials. Students should use this platform to message their PhD tutors, submit homework and assignments, and receive feedback.

For safeguarding purposes, we have a moderation system in place for messages sent over the Student Hub. Students should not be contacting their PhD tutors outside of this platform and you should not share tutors’ email addresses with them.

Before the Programme Launch, once you have registered students, we will be able to create their Hub accounts and give them access to the platform. Your Programme Officer will be in touch to let you know when this has happened and provide a PowerPoint to support you to guide students through the platform’s functions. We also have a number of ‘how-to’ videos to support students in using the Student Hub. These can be found on our YouTube channel here.

We require all students to have logged into the Hub and completed their pre-programme assessment prior to their first tutorial. We recommend booking a computer room or laptops for students to do this all together.

When students log into the Hub, they will see a list of tasks arranged by order of expected completion, as can be seen in the screenshot below.

If you have any trouble using the Hub, please contact your Programme Officer in the first instance.
